Brackett Green® Double Entry Drum Screen
This Screen Works Double Duty
The Brackett Green® Double Entry Drum Screen is an efficient, cost-effective debris removal solution for water treatment.
Using an in-to-out flow pattern, the screen captures and removes large volumes of debris–even jellyfish–to protect downstream equipment for large cooling water, drinking water, and wastewater applications.
THE PROBLEM
High-capacity fine screening of raw water or wastewater is essential for efficient water treatment processes. Traditional screening methods often struggle with issues such as screen bypassing, high-maintenance requirements, and limited debris handling capacities, leading to increased downtime and operational costs.
THE OVIVO SOLUTION
The Brackett Green Double Entry Drum Screen is a fully automated, 24-hour debris collection, conveyance, and discharge solution for processing high water volume and debris loads.
This low-maintenance tool features an in-to-out flow pattern that eliminates screen bypassing and handles high-debris capacities. The patented ProPaPanel® technology prevents hair pinning, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
HOW IT WORKS
The Brackett Green Double Entry Drum Screen consists of a robust drum structure with a solid horizontal center shaft, which revolves slowly in heavy-duty, self-aligning double roller bearings. Water flows from the inside to the outside of the drum through mesh panels arranged around its periphery.
Mesh panels are cleaned efficiently by backwashing at deck level. The screen is controlled by a simple drive unit positioned at deck level, with a nylon pinion engaging a gear ring on the outside of the drum. The drum screen structure supports high differential loading without failure of the mesh panels, ensuring that a downstream plant does not become contaminated by unscreened water and debris.
APPLICATIONS
- Sewage treatment plants
- Water reclamation facilities
- Wastewater treatment plants
- Combined storm water overflows
- Potable water treatment plants
- Membrane bioreactor (MBR) pretreatment
Our ProPaPanel® Technology
The patented ProPaPanel® sets a new standard in screening technology with a design that delivers unmatched durability, efficiency, and long-term performance in wastewater environments.
Engineered for Superior Screening Performance
- Tapered Round Holes
Designed for performance, our tapered round holes dramatically improve cleaning efficiency, reduce clogging, and eliminate hair pinning. They also enhance cleaning under wash water, ensuring consistent operation. - Unmatched Capture Efficiency
Unlike traditional slots, the round holes increase capture rates by approximately 225%, making the ProPaPanel one of the most effective screening solutions available. - Hair Capture without Shearing
Unlike perforated plates with sharp edges that shear hair and allow it to pass downstream, the ProPaPanel gently captures hair and fibrous materials, preserving system integrity and reducing downstream load. - Optimized Thickness (9mm)
The 9mm panel thickness virtually eliminates carpeting and stapling—common issues in many screening systems. - Built to Last
Made from a high-strength, impact-resistant co-polymer, the ProPaPanel is corrosion-proof and built to withstand harsh wastewater environments. Panels in operation for over 20 years look almost as clean as the day they were installed. - Flexible and Customizable
The ProPaPanel can be thermoformed and segment-welded to meet your exact sizing and shaping requirements. - Patented and Proven
Our patented design ensures long-lasting performance and reliability, reducing maintenance costs and extending service life.
