The Obreak™ system operates safely at ambient temperatures and pressures; is fully automated, energy efficient, and easy to maintain; and can be operated remotely.
This system provides on-site PFAS destruction, eliminating off-site transportation, disposal, and liability concerns related to managing PFAS-contaminated waste streams.

THE PROBLEM
Harmful and widespread PFAS contamination is an urgent public health and environmental threat.
Common treatment approaches for removing PFAS from water, wastewater, and landfill leachates involve separation through reverse osmosis or adsorption using a media such as granular-activated carbon and ion-exchange resin. In these cases, PFAS is simply separated from the water, wastewater, and leachate and concentrated into either a liquid or a solid waste stream, both of which require additional and costly off-site management for disposal.
Without proper cradle-to-grave management of these concentrated waste streams, PFAS could be re-released into the environment, exposing treatment providers to major financial and legal liabilities.
THE E2METRIX SOLUTION
The Obreak™ system uses patented electro-oxidation technology to degrade PFAS into harmless mineral components, reducing or eliminating the need for costly off-site disposal.
When Obreak™ is combined with upstream removal and concentration technologies such as RO, foam fractionation, or regenerable ion-exchange systems, the destruction of the concentrated PFAS liquid waste can have substantially lower long-term costs and reduced liabilities compared to current adsorption-only-based PFAS removal solutions.
HOW IT WORKS
Using patented electro-oxidation (EO) technology, the Obreak system effectively breaks down persistent contaminants, including PFAS, into their harmless mineral components.
The system operates by passing an electrical current through non-sacrificial electrodes (anodes and cathodes), thereby exposing PFAS compounds to highly energetic electrons.
This process breaks the strong carbon-fluorine (C-F) bonds in the PFAS compounds over time, converting them into harmless carbon dioxide and fluoride minerals—all while operating safely at low temperatures and pressures.
