With the exclusive ScumTrappR® and SludgeViewR® systems, the Enviroquip Rapid Sludge Removal Clarifier efficiently removes scum, reduces maintenance costs, and improves treatment efficiency. Meanwhile, the Jackbolt™ drive mechanism eliminates the need to take the clarifier offline for bearing or gear replacement.
THE PROBLEM
Secondary clarification in wastewater treatment has its challenges: clogging, floating nitrified sludge, and inefficient scum removal. These issues can lead to increased maintenance costs, operational downtime, and suboptimal treatment performance.
THE OVIVO SOLUTION
The Enviroquip Rapid Sludge Removal Clarifier addresses these challenges with its non-clogging straight tube hydraulic suction design, high-rate sludge removal capabilities, and advanced scum collection systems. This clarifier ensures fresh-mixed liquor, maintains a low sludge blanket, and eliminates the worry of floating sludge.
HOW IT WORKS
Activated sludge enters the secondary clarifier through submerged ports in the center pier and is deflected upward by octagonal flocculation baffles. These baffles enhance flocculation and scum collection within the inlet well.
As sludge settles to the floor, rotating straight tube suction pipes siphon solids into the SludgeViewR troughs at the surface, allowing easy monitoring and sampling.
The ScumTrappR includes a stationary bridge-mounted scum wiper located inside the influent well. It pushes inorganic floatables and scum into a separate rotating collection box for removal from the system. Ninety-five percent of the floatables are captured inside the influent well. The remaining 5% of the biological scum, which surfaces outside the influent well, is returned with the activated sludge for further treatment.
