THE PROBLEM

Municipalities and WWTP operators are constantly seeking sources of revenue and ways to reduce operating costs. Traditional methods of biogas storage and energy production can be inefficient and costly, leading to higher operational expenses and environmental impact.

THE OVIVO SOLUTION

Ultrastore Membrane Gasholders provide a reliable and efficient solution for capturing and storing biogas in large quantities. They enable stable energy production, helping fuel vehicle fleets and reduce operating costs. The PVC-coated, polyester-fiber fabric membranes are engineered to resist punctures, wind, and weather.

These gasholders are available in two main designs:

Model 2M: The two-membrane design features a low-pressure internal chamber for gas storage, with the internal biogas membrane independent of the external air membrane.
Model 3M: The three-membrane design offers higher operational safety, accurate pressure control, greater insulation, and power savings.

Both designs can be installed on top of digesters or on concrete slabs.

HOW IT WORKS

Ultrastore systems include fans/blowers, air relief valves, pressure transmitters, level control systems, and biogas relief valves to ensure efficient operation.

With Model 2M gasholders, fans/blowers continuously pump air through the external chamber. The mechanical relief valves are adjusted to relieve pressure at the required operating pressure of the gasholder membrane.

With Model 3M gasholders, the blower is required only during the initial filling of the membrane–for compensation and maintaining a constant pressure when biogas is withdrawn.
